Airflow® tooth polishing uses a high-pressure jet to reach the front and back of the teeth, removing bacteria, debris, plaque and staining. It’s also good for cleaning out periodontal pockets, and in some instances, it may be used in place of a whitening treatment. A powerful jet of compressed air, water and bicarbonate particles is directed towards the tooth’s surface. The non-contact, light abrasive action is sufficient to remove debris, staining and plaque from in and around the teeth.
No. It’s a non-contact, non-invasive procedure, so it’s great for sensitive teeth. Patients may feel a slight tingling sensation, but other than that, it remains a comfortable procedure.
Timings depend on how bad your teeth are. Typically, treatments take around 30 minutes to complete, but they may take longer.
