You probably know that dental implants are a proven, long-term solution for replacing missing tooth gaps, but what about multiple missing teeth, or worse still, entire arches of teeth?
At Reading Dental Spa, we can place a complete fixed arch denture system attached to just four or six dental implants.
Commonly known as ‘All-on-4’ or ‘All-On-6’ dental implants, this process allows those people with very few functional teeth to eat normally, smile and live life to the full. In other words, it’s a full-mouth restoration that changes lives!
During an initial consultation, our dentists will see if you’re best suited to an All-on-4 or All-on-6 procedure.
Our team will also use 3D intraoral scanners to determine the density of the bone and whether any more teeth need removing.
If you’re a successful applicant, we’ll draw up a personalised treatment plan and arrange a date for your full mouth restoration to take place.
During the simple surgery, 4 or six implants are strategically angled and placed in the mouth to stabilise and support your fixed denture restoration.
Additionally, and at the same time, abutments are fitted alongside a temporary full mouth restoration. This is known as ‘immediate loading’ and means that the patient receives a ‘same-day’ smile.
Finally, after the implants have fully stabilised in the jaw (normally 3-6 months later) you’ll be called back in to have your permanent restoration fitted.
If you have multiple missing teeth or are a long-term denture-wearer, you may be a candidate for this revolutionary treatment – one that allows you to eat the foods you love, smile without embarrassment and embrace life to the full.

Absolutely. We go to painstaking lengths to ensure your new denture is a lifelike reconstruction and we’re confident in our ability to work with you to create and replicate the very best replacement teeth.
Age isn’t a deciding factor but health is. So, if you are older but have relatively good overall health, then you should be a good candidate. Likewise, if you’re younger and smoke or drink heavily or you have uncontrolled diabetes or poor oral health, then we may suggest an alternative solution.
The All-on-4/ All-on-6 procedure is specifically designed to minimise discomfort. During surgery, we‘ll provide you with a light sedative or anaesthetic while your implants and restorations are being placed.
After surgery, you may see some bruising or swelling which is normal and you may experience some slight discomfort. A combination of hot and cold compresses, antibiotics and over-the-counter pain relief, should be sufficient to keep most discomfort at bay. Most people recover very quickly and return to work soon after.
When your temporary denture is fitted you will need to be a little careful by avoiding overly hard or crunchy foods. However, once your implants have fully stabilised and your permanent fixture is in place, you should be able to eat whatever you like without restriction.
